On a recent holiday in Somerset, my family and myself visited a lovely little seaside town packed with tea shops, gift shops, fish and chip shops and numerous other shops I would relate to English coastal resort towns. As we ambled along the narrow streets, one particular shop stood out amongst the others, for my daughter at least, because it was packed full of
Dolls Houses. She was in her element looking at the numerous
Dolls Houses that were on display and I must admit, I was pretty impressed by the houses myself. These weren`t your average
Dolls Houses I might add; they were tiny pieces of art, and it would have been hard not to be impressed by the quality of the craftsmanship involved. As we viewed and admired, pointed and awed, I waited for the question every parent dreads, ‘can I have one?` Sure enough after what seemed, to be fair, quite a long time the inevitable question popped up. We of course gave the usual replies of, ‘well if you`re a good girl` and, ‘you`ll have to wait and see what Father Christmas brings you` which any self-respecting parent should know by now off heart. The thing is though;
Dolls Houses make lovely presents for little girls. I wouldn`t think twice about buying one for my girls because I know they would get hours of pleasure from it and they`d also be using their imaginations whilst doing so. With a whole host of accessories to collect for the house, Christmas and Birthday presents will always be catered for. Our trip to Somerset might prove to be more expensive than we originally thought; we might be buying a new house!
